I have loved Wahoos for so long and now that I live in this area, love this location even more. Their food is fantastic and service is even better. It is so hard to find a restaurant with such great employees. I go often and whether they are a lot of a few customers the employees are always working hard to make sure the customers are always taken care of. As for food, my favorites are the Maui bowl, tacos, and green sauce! Can't go wrong here.

This place is always busy, but the service is fast. Maria B., the cashier, makes me look forward to coming back. She is so nice and always has a smile. The food is good. I mean, it's Wahoo's, what's there not to like?

Moving it up a star because I had their shrimp burrito and was reminded how good it is. Still not a fan of their guacamole but their service is awesome! Always coming around asking if we need anything...and of course we always need more salsa. :) Tip: Add salt, extra lime and extra salsa to rice. Yummmm.

Wahoo's is a great place for a healthy lunch or dinner. I love their food. Recently I have discovered the citrus slaw skinny tacos. They are super bomb and super low carb friendly. You get a huge leaf of lettuce filled with their low calorie and carb coleslaw and your choice of protein. I mix it up and get one of each kind (chicken, steak, fish). My favorite one has to be the fish, followed by the chicken. They are extremely tasty with a lot of flavor. If you are looking for a low carb and healthy meal I suggest these every time. Wahoo's has a hip and fun atmosphere with cool music. Can never go wrong with going to a place like this with friends or alone.

What's up with Wahoo's? My friends and I used to love going here every week, but something has gone really wrong at this location. We stand in line a long time. The guy at the register is new, but it seems like he didn't get any training. Our orders have been wrong, food delivery is slow, and the staff seems like they are always trying to catch up. Corporate changed the menu too. I'm so disappointed. Service and menu has suffered.

Coming here for years and we always get great friendly service and great hot food. Fit soup and the healthy lettuce fish tacos with light slaw was so good! I usually get the Wahoo salad with shrimp but the Fit Soup is my new favorite with brown rice...has just a hint of heat. Nice large area to eat outside.

The steak tacos were very dry, and my chips were not great. Overall I had a 3 star experience.

Typical Wahoo's. One complaint I have about wahoo 's in general is that the food is pretty bland. -1 star And this location has a very poor outdoor seating area, it is pretty much in the parking lot. -0.5 star

Whenever I am back in SoCal, one of the first things I want to do is go to Wahoo's. While I love them all, this is my favorite Wahoo's location! I used to live nearby and remember how delighted I was when it (finally!) opened. Why do I like this particular Wahoo's so much? It is big and open, with lots of windows bringing in natural light. The staff is great so the line to order moves quickly and the food comes out fast, fast, fast. Also, the fish here is never too dry (as sometimes may happen at other locations). I typically either get the basic fish tacos (great!) or the shrimp burrito (amazing!). Please, please, please open a location in Arizona!!!

What fun! After a hot dusty 8 mile mountain bike ride in Whiting Ranch we stopped off at Wahoo's for lunch because it was at the end of the trail. Brilliant idea!! I am not familiar with Wahoo's and we were happily surprised with the generous portions of fish tacos, rice beans, salsa, chips and Wahoo's salad was large and plenty of grilled fish on top. The dressing was on the side and it was great. The staff couldn't have been nicer from the cashier to the server. Can't say enough good things about this fish taco place, well done!

Wahoos has never been disappointing but this location seems to go just over the top. They are a super clean and friendly location and usually for the full feeling you get after you eat and price of it, its like a double whammy. Their burrito is about twice the size of Chipotle,OR SO IT FEELS, and when you get green sauce on top it adds a whole new flavor! you gotta try it :)

Love their traditional grilled fish burrito wet with green sauce! LOCATION / AMBIANCE (Rating 4) - While the location is not close to home it's a nice business/retail center with several good restaurants and it's right off a major frwy offramp but has no noise from it. The interior is typical "Wahoos" style with stickers everywhere, painted turquoise and has a defined eating area sectioned off from the order line which I like. The seating area here is large and while not exactly over comfortable, it's got the local surf/taco shop feel going! There's surf and skate decor all over this place and it's a fun environment. SERVICE - (Rating 3.75) So it's hard to get a high rating on service with a restaurant this big when there are typically only 1, max 2 (that I've seen), servers bringing out food and bussing tables. It's hard work and they are usually hustling around. But I have to hand it to them, each time I've visited they've seemed genuinely concerned about us having everything we need. I would suggest they check back however. Typically, after the meal is dropped off, that's it. So if you need something else, you'll be tracking them down. GRILLED FISH BURRITO, WET/GREEN SAUCE (Rating 4.5) - This burrito has it's own unique flavor I haven't found anywhere else. They give you ample amount of fish. It's typically just a little overcooked unfortunately, but it's still very good. The green sauce is a little spicy, but not too spicy and the dish comes with rice and beans. The rice is best adding additional pico de gallo and that's it! CHIPS and SALSA (Rating 2) What happened guys! They used to have decent chips and salsa (pico de gallo), now it seems they switched to a "baked" chip which was dry and crackery (a new word ;)) and their salsa (not pico de gallo), sucks. It tastes like cheap tomatillo sauce mixed with a bit of pico de gallo. If you're going to do salsa, get a real recipe and put some effort into it. Chips and salsa are a big factor when it comes to me choosing a Mexican joint.

I have heard a lot about Wahoo's - mostly from people telling me it's their favorite place! First, the won me before I walked in. The environment is so cool. They have a ton of posters and signs on all the windows and walls. I feel it looks like what a Freebirds World Burrito is supposed to look like. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and even came to our table a couple times to see if we needed anything and clear our trash. Food wise - it was ok. I had a burrito that was the size of 2 Chipotle Burrito's. It wasn't near as good though. I ate some of my companies quesadilla though and it was incredible. I would go back just for that! I think I just chose a bad menu item. Definitely earned their 4 star rating.

I guess this place is known for the fish tacos, but I do not like seafood so I tried the spicy chicken taco instead, it was very good and came with a big portion of rice. The place has a cool feeling to it inside and was great for lunch. Even if you don't like fish, check it out as they have plenty of non swimming things to eat as well.

    (4)
  • J T.

Good beach vibes at the place. Love the wahoo fish salad with the spicy fish. Been coming here for years. Never had any negative issues with the service or quality of food. Love this place!

  • Jason B.

Consistently decent food (gringo-surfer-latin-asian) from a fast casual concept that feels like you're eating in an angst-ridden teenage boy's upstairs bedroom - all that is missing is a bong. Order the carne asada taquitos and spicy shrimp quesadilla a la carte. Although they're good, don't waste time with rice and beans. The cheese enchilada with the green sauce is a savory indulgence. If you order a burrito get it wet with the green sauce. Try the veggie mix with the mushrooms and you won't be disappointed. Great portions. I always call ahead for lunch and pick it up because the place is a zoo during the week. Be prepared to wait on hold when you call for your lunch order. This location gets slammed. Sometimes I wait on hold for a couple minutes - no joke. Parking lot is a disaster late morning through lunch, and again in the evenings. Park closer to the adjacent offices and walk.

Good food, workers are very friendly and the restirant itsslf is very clean. The inside is decorated with skateboard company stickers , surf boards etc.

Out of all the Wahoo's this location is my least favorite. Food doesn't taste as fresh.

  • Denise K.

Great healthier alternative for those of us who enjoy Mexican food! Quick, easy, cheap Mexican food but it is still always FRESH and tastes like it's made with quality ingredients. The price is also very comparable to El Pollo Loco which is like the fast food of Mexican food. However, you can be much healthier here. I usually order the #1 combo which comes with an enchilada, beans, and rice. It's very filling and I LOVE their black beans and rice. Delicious! It's also only 5 bucks and however many cents which is such a DEAL! I think I've spent more at McDonald's o.O Service has always been pretty superb for a fast food kind of place. Much better than the service you'd receive at Panera which has a similar serving concept with you ordering at the counter and them delivering food to the table. Plenty of seating to choose from and the tables are clean. Food comes out quickly and they bring you the utensils and napkins with it. The workers that I've had contact with during my visits have always been friendly. If you have leftovers, they have the boxes next to the drinks so you just grab it and box your food yourself! Obviously, I'm a fan!

Good happy hour price. $3.99 for three street tacos. I should have more carefully examined the menu or asked questions. The tacos were good however these aren't street tacos. When I see street taco, I think corn tortilla, steak, onions and cilantro. What I got was much more than that including a roja sauce, tomatoes, cabbage and some other sauce topped with cheese. Not that I expected, but still tasty.

Rave Review for Makenna whose badge says something about being "in training". Checked back on us three times & was very patient with kids not happy with their food at nearby table. She fixed the situation. Rave Reviews for this apparent new hire!

Easy of getting to location- 2/5 (tho they do allow phone in orders and can be paid for/picked up from a separate line, which didn't have anyone waiting. Cleanliness-4/5 salt covered the bench, easily seen, easily cleaned, totally ignored. The table top seemed clean, cleaner than most. Due to it being salt, I've increased to from 3.5. The entire restaurant seemed clean, from everything visible! With so many having the flu, this is IMPORTANT! Tables/Seating-3/5, possibly a 2.5/5. The tables rock, causing several spills! A few times startled my Mom (NoT cool)!! Time for some repairs, so obvious, I have to lower my scores! Service-3/5, starting with ordering. Gent made us feel rushed, even tho no one was behind us. Order took a long while, it was practically empty (before 6 PM), some food was very microwaved hot, some too cool:(. Food-3.5/5, I just cannot give them a 4. Two of the dishes were cool and the child's was microwave (unevenly) hot! Meaning he burned himself!!!! Taste, everything was good! The table "server" (no wait staff), was so kind to say goodbye to all, he forgot my Moms fork, she had to ask twice (she's a very patient woman). When we asked for a box to leave, she has to go get it herself:( boo!!! Maybe phone in/take out is the way to go.

I'm a fan of the salmon tacos. Great staff at this location. Outstanding service by Chepe. Thanks Wahoos.

  • Karl S.

Great food and great service at reasonable prices. My family eats here all the time. We've never had an unpleasant experience in many, many visits. The food has a Mexican influence, but it is very California, reasonably healthy and different from a typical Mexican restaurant.

This Wahoo's is like the one at the spectrum, like the one in Costa Mesa, like the one in Huntington and like so many others. I love it, they can add weird stuff to their menu if they would like as long as they keep all of the old regular stuff. This particular Wahoo's is where I go after I ride my bike at Whiting... assuming a cougar doesnt eat me.

    (4)
  • Edson H.

Really glad they have a Wahoo's around here and I'm digging this location. The staff was friendly, manager included, and food hit the spot -- as always. Nice patio for outside seating and plenty of seats inside. Enchaladas could use some work in the taste department but their tacos are always on point.

THIS IS THE BEST PLACE EVER. I've had this when I was a child back in Hawaii and this brings back memories! Banzai bowl

  • Gillian L.

I usually get a salad which is always good but today I decided to get a carnitas bowl. What a mistake. The meat is good but it comes with one miniature lime wedge and a massive amount of crunchy undercooked brown rice. The pico de gallo is also pretty scant. Bummed out by this lunch.

Great food, we have a small issue and the manager Sergio and the supervisor julie took care of it immediately, I highly recommend this place!

Funny, but I never set out to eat here, but wind up eating here a lot. Usually after getting nails done or hanging at Starbucks, and my companion & I decide we're hungry, so we go to Wahoo's. It's like a reliable friend's apartment. You know you can go there & it'll be good--nothing extra special but real nice & comfortable. Wahoo's surfer atmosphere is Hawaii-casual any time of year, the orders are taken up at the register & quickly brought to you (a nice touch) by friendly, smiling servers who may also be the cooks or buspeople--not sure. But authentically nice folks. Food is always fresh & seems healthy, free of oozing cheeses & questionable sauces. I like the blackened fish, roasted veggies, on a salad. Dang good. Great house salsa. Good prices, plenty of indoor & outdoor seating, appropriate music. I've been there for hours at times. I kinda love Wahoo's but, like an old reliable friend, sometimes take it a little for granted...

Always an easy choice for lunch or an early dinner. We love the tacos and the chicken bowls. I had the tortilla soup, which was a little spicy for my taste.

I ordered the fish tacos. They were salty and I bit into a bone in my taco. Staff was nice and offered to replace the taco, however my appetite was ruined.

LOVE this location. Definitely my favorite of ALL the others Ive been to (and Ive been to alot) Everyone here is always EXTREMELY nice and always smiling. They really go out of their way to make sure you are happy. Bummed that Wahoos recently changed the ingredients of the Power Chopper Salad. They now use a bean/corn salsa instead of the rice and beans....why mess with a good thing, guys?? Thankfully they have been nice enough to make it the old way for me instead (for now), when I asked. Big thanks to the staff here for always being so sweet and friendly!

  • Cassandra R.

I have ZERO complaints about this restaurant. The staff is always super nice. The food is consistent and FRESH. You just feel healthier eating here rather than at Del Taco or El Pollo Loco, but this is just as fast and only a couple more dollars per plate.

  • Scott C.

The fish tacos at wahoos are always great, but this location specifically has great service and fresh food. I highly recommend this to similarly priced surrounding area restaurants.

    (4)
  • Brent A.

Terrible - the few pieces of shrimp in the $9 Bonzai 'bowl' (served in a box) looked like bait and the dish itself was about 90% rice. I had forgotten why I had not been here for years - now I remember. Advice - Stick to the simple tacos or burritos - still over priced for what you get.

    (1)
  • Juli L.

This is a great Wahoo's! I always order the chicken tacos and found this location to pack twice as much chicken and salsa than other Wahoo locations. So filling and delicious! Great service too, the staff is so friendly and helpful.

  • Tara F.

You don't know just how good it is... until it's gone! I moved to the east coast for a few years and Wahoo's (ok, and in & out) are what I missed most.... sort of sad, right? But they're so good. I even booked our babymoon trip to Honolulu, just so I could enjoy the pure deliciousness of that rice (why does it taste so good), those "make your nose run" spicy white beans... and that mouthwatering, hurry & get in my belly goodness... the blackened fish tacos. Arriving at the Lake Forest location, our new hometown, I was surprised at how large it was. I'm used to the original in Costa Mesa and the tiny by ocean area awesome location in Santa Monica... this place is huge. As always, the food is superb, everyone is friendly and your chips & salsa come out so fast it's freaky. My only gripe has to do with getting extra salsa or napkins... I always ask for both and I never get both without going up to the counter and asking for some from another employee. EVERY TIME! Hence, the 4 stars instead of 5. This location is large, with a very spacious patio eating area... parking is a bit tricky... but manageable. As far as Wahoo's goes, this one is just fine and the fact that it's 4 short minutes from my house, makes this girl wildly happy and eventually probably a bit heavier :)

  • Matt H.

Wahoos is always good love their green sauce enchiladas and the black beans! This is the only Mexican place of the white washed style that is actually good I've been eating at Wahoos for years!

    (3)
  • Anne G.

Food is always fresh and service great. Always a pleasant experience. The decor is the typical surfer / skateboarder style. Pretty filled up during the weekends so arrive before six to get a booth.

    (5)
  • Lauren H.

Their fish taco's are phenomenal. Which is useful, since that's their namesake. Rice is excellent. I love their chicken bowl and their onion rings. Chips and salsa could use some work, but if I've got a craving for a healthier mexican, this is where I go. My husband loves the Scream'n burrito. You HAVE to get extra green sauce. And eat it. On everything.

  • Michael W.

Tried the Cajun Fish Taco with the citrus slaw, Black beans and brown rice. I think if the tacos would have been served to me Hot off the Grill and not on the cool side they would have been great. FYI if you are going to order guacamole for your Tacos it does not come on the side unless you request it. The setting is nice and the staff is great so if you like give it a try and yelp your opinion maybe today was just a bad day.

Today was my first time eating at Wahoos and I must say their service is as great as their food. Everyone that worked there was so polite and friendly. I will definately be back :)

Why I like Wahoo's Fish Taco: Good food: their chicken enchilada's are seriously the BOMB. Add the Wahoo's Hot Sauce to your beans and rice and it's seriously amazing and will make your taste buds go WOW. Good service: for being considered "fast food", they sure do a lot for you. They check on you at least twice, if not more, to see if everything is ok. Cheap grub: for under 5 bucks, I can get a decent meal that consists of beans, rice and an enchilada. At other places, it'd be closer to 8 bucks. Thanks Wahoo's for making my wallet love you. Clean establishment: this place is seriously sparkling. The tables. The floor. The bathroom. Even the employees smile. Love it. All in all, Wahoo's has finally won me over. It took awhile (years actually). But, now I can safely say I'll be making them a regular spot for me. Happy eating! Cheers!

This place is come to home and so convenient. I always get the veggie burrito with the green sauce and it's always good. I guess the thing that disappoints me is their customer service. Don't get me wrong. I love that they care about the quality of service and experience yet I don't want to be harassed every 5 minutes if everything is going OK. If you've checked up on me once, I'll be ok. This isn't a fine dining restaurant. It's fast food. I know I'm in a fast food joint and I only expect you to be at your best when I'm ordering my food, when it's prepped, and out on the floor in terms of cleanliness. No need to come around and ask me anything else. I'll be fine.

  • Elizabeth O.

I like that they can handle 20 people in line at once. I came here with a big group and the line moved quickly and the food came out fast. If you are in a rush or have a group of friends with you, this is the place to go!

  • Kelly D.

Love Wahoos! The one thing I'm bummed about lately is their Mr Lees sauce went from being spicy and yummy to so insanely hot that you can't put a dab on your food without having your mouth be on fire. I'm no wuss, I like spicy, but the last two times I've been here it's WAY TOO SPICY!! Without it, something is missing as they only have pico de gallo as an option :( please bring back the regular Mr Lees!!! I have skipped out on eating here twice in the last week because of this, it's a huge bummer!!

Fresh delicious food, and very friendly servers. I have always been a fan of Wahoo's. Their chicken teriyaki bowl is fantastic.

  • Gary L.

Yum. This place has good fish and sometimes they make it spicy, too. I got the Wahoo salad with fish, which also comes with gaucamole and salad. You might have to wait a little bit for your food but it is well worth it because the food is cooked to order. The employees here are nice and friendly. While standing there waiting for my order, three separate employees asked me if they could help me with anything. One of them offered me extra salsa. I didn't even have my food yet! And you know how places like Starbucks and Jamba Juice take down your name when you make an order and then call you by name later on? Well, at least one lady here makes a point to remember your name. Customers were coming in and out and even though she wasn't working the register, she made a point to greet them by name. Awesome.

Let me preface by saying, I usually am a fan of Wahoo's Fish taco. I have been for years. I usually get the same order every time I visit any of thier various locations in Southern California. And get a wonderful meal. It is this: A Wahoo Salad with Banzai Veggies w/ Mr. Lee's sauce, no dressing. I wouldn't have even known about The Mr. Lee's Sauce Chili Sauce, if it hadn't been a menu special about four years back, that I tried and loved ever since. It adds a little spicy to the teriyaki sauce which coats the Banzai Veggies.Yum, right? Well, hot chili sauce is not at all pleasant if applied by the cupful, which is apparently what the new technique is at this Wahoo's in Foothill Ranch. I like spicy food, but this was completely inedible. Too bad I had ordered it to go, at lunch, and didn't have the time to return it. What a waste. Oh, and the grilled fish taco my fellow diner ordered was the drier than an ancient papyrus scroll. Shameful. The counter help was friendly when I ordered, but that doesn't make the food any more palatable, unfortunately. What the heck, Wahoos? Get it together!

Food was good, tasty, healthy, fresh. Perhaps a little bland, had the Wahoo Bowl.

    (4)
  • Charles J.

Always a good go to for lunch or dinner since it's on the way home. Typical wahoos though nothing special here, it's usually fairly busy and small portions so I order a bowl and a burrito...or maybe I'm just fat and eat a lot. The world may never know.

    (4)
  • Scotty W.

Just loved how fast I got to order my food. I love how fast I got my food. When I got my food I just love that as well. Great first time visit. I love this place!

I always order the Kajuna Grande...I get the blackened fish taco (best around) w/chicken taquitos. Always excellent service here.

  • Michelle P.

I love their food, but its too bad the cashier clerks are such bitches. Virdinia?? Virginia?? Whatever your name is, why don't you smile and be nice for a change. Stop trying to make the customer feel like an asshole because you talk so soft with the kitchen right behind you, stop rushing people when they're ordering and thanks for not answering my question at all when I asked where is "that" on the menu. (granted we wanted it, but instead of just punching it into the register why don't you tell us where it is on the menu first?? for f**** sakes, it was the only picture without a title to it). Like I said, love their food, but I think it's worth the drive to go to a different Wahoo's franchise.

I am a huge fan of fish tacos. As a result I have had several over the years at restaurants over the west coast and Hawaii. Sorry - but Wahoo you over cook the fish. PLEASE - do not cook the moisture along with the flavor out of the fish. After me slugging down three glasses of water to get the fish down my throat - the good attributes are: friendly service, good atmosphere, low price and decent beer / wine selection.

It's good to be back at the home base despite the on and off patronage over the years. In the past I hated the crowds but on a Friday afternoon it was surprisingly quiet. My fish taco and enchilada were done just right and my tummy was thankful.

Wahoos has impressed me with its superior service, menu, and high quality food year after year. I like the fish tacos and the wet burritos. Likes: 1. All employees are very attentive, positive, and friendly 2. Food is always great 3. Reasonable prices - You can feed a family of four for about $25 4. Very healthy 5. Fun atmosphere 6. Beer of the month specials 7. Great salsa 8. Best fish tacos every, grilled fish (not fried) Dislikes: None - this place is flawless

I'd hesitate in saying that Wahoo's food blows me away, but I do appreciate the fact that it's consistent in its quality. They have a sizeable menu but, like the creature of habit I am, I almost always get the same thing: the #2 combo. It's the one with 2 tacos, rice and beans. I usually go with blackened fish and chicken, but lately I've noticed that the chicken tends to be overcooked and dry. Today, I switched it up a bit and went with steak - much better choice. Though I will say that none of their other meaty offerings measure up to their gold standard fish tacos. They're always moist, well-prepared and seasoned to taste. The rice and beans get kicked up a notch thanks to some mild salsa and cilantro, which is capable of adding flavor to just about anything. Everyone is always polite, the food service is quick and easy, and there's abundant seating almost any time of the day. Great spot to stop if you're looking for a quick bite on your lunch break.

Employees were very friendly. Ordered food, waited about 20 min for 2 bowls. It turns out that they forgot my order, I didn't mind bc mistakes happen. When I finally get my food I grab it and head home. When we opened our bowls we find that they gave us brown rice instead of the white rice we ordered. I was a little annoyed but once again I let it go bc these things happen...now for the reason they only get one star. The food is extremely bland, the chicken has no flavor, the brown rice (which we didn't order) has no flavor and the teriyaki sauce they gave us tastes like vodka....AND the sauce is watered down...wow! This was my first time eating here and it'll be my last. Food SUCKS, no flavor and it is overpriced. Never again!!

AV Wahoo's=bad. FHR Wahoo's=good! Why do I like this Wahoo's? *Good service - Check * Good food - Check * Good location - Check (parking is a bit small, but that's good. I don't want anyone to know about my favorite Wahoo's!) It's also a lot more spacious. You feel like you can eat and breathe at the same time. You don't feel like you just sunk into the deepest part of the ocean from where the fish in your fish taco might have come from. Woohoo for Wahoo's!

Great price. Great price for refils if you have a refil cup. Friendly. Great food!! I just wish they would give you at least 1 refil on the chips and salsa especially since you have to pay for it. Other than that, it's great. Good location. Like that it's local. Healthier Mexcian food.

Never tried fish tacos until I moved to so cal. I was pleasantly surprised. Blackened fish rocks the house by itself and also works quite well in taco form. Years later after I successfully escaped from the cesspool that is so cal I realized just how so cal Wahoo's really is. Healthy, somewhat tasty, but a little boring and tacky at the same time.

Ok, really, it's wahoos! I love wahoos and have been eating at them for over 10 years. Food is always great and they occasionally jack your order, tell em about it and they'll take care of it for you. They check on you probably every 14 seconds to be sure you are ok, all part of the wahoos charm.

I have no idea what the other reviewer was on who said this place has "superior service" but they are way wrong. First off, they haven't comprehended yet that English as a second language individuals should not take phone orders due to the fact you have to repeat yourself 3 times and they still get the order wrong. I said white beans...NOT black. Second, the cockaroach at the front door should have caused me to run away. Third, they do not label the tacos, or anything for that matter, for to go orders and that would be helpful when you are handing food out to people when you get to your destination. Fourth, I saw a cook wipe their nose with their hand and then handle food. Fifth, the place smells like sewage. I recommend ANY Wahoo's over this dump!!!

Do not come here at noon, the lunch rush is insane! But that aside I LOVE this place. Can't go wrong with the bonzai burrito with chicken or shrimp. I pretty much could eat here every day... all 3 meals. Wahoo's is like in and out... makes me proud to be a California native.

This is very fresh and non-greasy mexican-ish food. Your plate is full of rice and yummy spicy or black beans, and your taco or burrito isn't fully of oils or low grade ingredients you find at traditional mexican places. I think Wahoo's is an icon of Southern California beach life. I live in the bay area now and don't have one up there, I go to wahoos every time I'm down south.

ok so we all know wahoos is bomb. but today at lunch, they made a boo boo on my banzai bowl...had to dock a 1/2 star but still rounded it up to a 4 star b/c everyone is so nice here. anyhoo, reason for the -1/2 was b/c i asked for easy rice and instead they gave me a small thing of rice, a small thing of black beans and then they put all my chicken on a huge bed of beans! it was bean overload...toot toot toot. i must clarify next time. i still love this place from time to time. my other all time fave is the shrimp banzai burrito!

I've been going to Wahoo's since I was a kiddo, and while it is a chain, it's the healthiest fast food alternative around, and the Hawaiian north-shore vibe is good reason alone why I keep coming back for more. I usually get the Wahoo's Salad, because they use green leaf lettuce (not the "spring mix" or ICEBERG) and with salsa and guacamole, who needs dressing?! Your choice of fillings include the usual suspects: fish, chicken, carne asada, but I'd try something different like shrimp or carnitas. Maybe even go for them blackened or SPICY! Though, I wouldn't recommend the banzai vegetables or going for the vegetarian topping, which is rice and beans. Whatever happened to the mushrooms!?!? Those need to make a comeback, though I think they'll make them on special request. Gosh, I love Wahoo's.

Wahoo's is one of my favorite restaurants. The food is healthy (grilled, not deep fried like Rubios or other places) and inexpensive. I ate lunch at Wahoo's three times a week for a year, and never got so much as an upset stomach - more than I can say for other places! You can see the kitchen from the ordering counter, and it's always clean - another plus. Wahoo's was the first restaurant our daughter ate in, at six months. Nine months later, she still loves the food. The Polynesian shrimp is fantastic in a taco or enchilada, and the regular fish is great.

Twenty bucks for chips and salsa, Sam Adams on tap, a soft drink and two entrees. Kind of hard to beat that! I usually get the Wahoo grilled fish burrito. The wife usually gets the Wahoo bowl with grilled fish. It's always good and they don't chintz on the amount of fish that they serve. Plus the people that work here get an A+ for customer service. They do a better job than most of the "full service" restaurants that we've been to. So, let them know and leave them a tip.

Love the food, love the people. I love fish and theirs is one of the best I've ever had in a "fast food" place....definitely great value and cheap prices for the quality of food

rice and beans for a buck fifty? count me in. add some guacamole and it's still under $5. soy sauce, chili sauce (they call it "mr. lee's"), and some salsa. so much flavor! a complex protein! healthy! cheap! you can get the veggie bowl (terriyaki veggies with rice and beans) for only $7 and it's good for two meals. i either share it, or save some for my lunch the next day. the to-go plate situation is a little awkward and it's hard to mix things together. i'm not sure why they have those sectioned-off plates... i hate those! the veggie bonzai burrito is huge, delicious and only a little over $5. it's mexican and asian influenced american food and i love it.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
